Akuadasuo Ezenyilimba was named the Northeast Conference Women s Field Rookie of the Week on Wednesday for her performance at the Yale Season Opener on Saturday.

New Haven.- The Sacred Heart track and field team were in action at the 2017 Yale Season Opener on Sunday at Coxe Cage.

The Sacred Heart men s and women s track and field teams garnered a combined 17 All-Northeast Conference selections on Friday, as well as the 2017 Women s Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Sacred Heart women finished 11th of 39 teams, with a total score of 26 points.

Fairfield, CT Mareena DiMilia of Sacred Heart University track and field team has qualified for the NCAA East Region Track and Field Preliminary Championships, to be held May 25-27 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

It came down to the final event, but the Sacred Heart women s track and field team pulled out its third consecutive Northeast Conference Women s Track and Field Outdoor Championship title. The Pioneers bested Central Connecticut by just three points.
